What is SCRIP?
Scrip is a fundraising program in which select merchants offer gift cards to non-profit groups at a discount. The non-profit then sells the gift cards to community members at full cost. For example, Fred Meyer sells a gift card worth $100 to the Sehome PTSA, who pays $96.00 for that gift card and then sells it to a parent for $100. Your merchant gift card is redeemable for the full $100 value. The parent pays no more for their groceries but the purchase of the gift card though Sehome PTSA results in a $4.00 donation to the school by the merchant. Village Books offers a 10% donation. Fred Meyer offers a 4% donation and Food Co-op offers a 5% donation. If you already shop at these local merchants, you can make a big difference to our students. The Sehome SCRIP program raised over $20,000 in the 2014-2015 school year. If you are interested in having a team, club or activity fundraise through Scrip please review these PTSA Guidelines.
How to Order SCRIP
SCRIP Program Rules and Guidelines
Fill out this LOCAL VENDOR order form and/or this ShopwithScrip order form.
Submit to the SHS office before end of the 1st week of any month to get started. You only complete the form once. The standing order program is intended to make the process as easy as possible for families and volunteers. You fill out the form once; send a check to the school once a month and we will fill your order every month.
At the end of the second week of the month arrange to pick up your order. See instructions on the order form for more details.
If you want to make changes to your recurring order please contact your group scrip representative or Mimi Meggyesy before the first of the month.
Deadline for orders/changes
These merchants do not have a method to register your card/s. If your card is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed, it will not be replaced and the value remaining will be lost. If the card is used without your permission you will not be reimbursed for such loss.
Another easy way to benefit the schools is by linking your Fred Meyer Reward Card or Target Red Card to the school. All stores will make a donation dependent on your purchases. This is unrelated to the scrip program and can be done whether you use scrip or not.
Fred Meyer Community Awards
Whenever you use your Rewards Card when shopping at Freddy’s, you will be helping your school earn a donation from Fred Meyer.

What is Scrip? Scrip is a fundraising program in which select merchants offer gift cards to non-profit groups at a discount. The non-profit then sells the gift cards to community members at full cost. For example, Fred Meyer sells Sehome PTSA a gift card worth $100 at their stores. Sehome PTSA pays $96 for that card and then sells it for $100. The gift card is redeemable for the full $100 value. So the purchaser receives $100 of merchandise for $100 but the purchase of the gift card through the Sehome PTSA results in a $4 donation to the school by the merchant. Village Books and Woods Coffee offer a 10% discount. Fred Meyer offers a 4% donation and Food Co-op offers a 5% donation. If you already shop at these merchants, you can make a big difference to our students. The Scrip program raised over $20,000 for Sehome groups in the 2014/2015 year.
What is ShopwithScrip? This is a national online Scrip service that offers over 100 different retailers with a variety of discounts. Sehome supporters can place orders that will be delivered to Sehome. Orders placed online at www.shopwithscrip.com benefit Sehome HS by using code 71A8CF9B2L766 during online registration. Paper forms are also available on the PTSA website and at the main office. ShopwithScrip orders placed by the end of the month will be available for pick up at the Sehome ASB office on the second Tuesday of the next month along with regular scrip orders.
How do I order? Fill out this order form and turn it into the ASB window before the end of the 1st week of any month to get started. You only need to complete the form once. The standing order program is intended to make the process as easy as possible for families and volunteers.
How do I pay? You do not need to prepay. The student or person picking up the order brings a check made out to the Sehome PTSA at the time of pick up. We have had participants submit post-dated checks for the whole year. When this occurs the checks are kept in a lock box and pulled when orders are filled and the student (if student pick-up) is sent a reminder during the school day to pick up the gift cards at the ASB office.
When do I pick up my order?
Orders are typically filled on the second Tuesday of the month and are ready for pick up at the end of that school day. The pick up days are also listed on the PTSA website. Orders must be picked up by the end of the month.
Can I split my profits between 2 or more groups?
No, not with one month’s order. Each group handles their own orders and splitting requires creating more orders and increases the volunteers’ “paperwork”. However you can switch which group benefits between orders. For instance you can benefit Cross-Country for 5 months and then change to Orchestra for the rest of the year. Scrip orders are filled for 10 months of the year (September through June). Just contact your group’s scrip coordinator or Mimi Meggyesy with your preferences.
Can I change my order?
Yes. Just contact your group’s scrip coordinator or Mimi Meggyesy before the first of the month.
Will using Scrip gift cards affect my rewards program?
No, you will accumulate “reward points” just the same as you would if you paid with cash. In fact, you can also benefit the schools by linking your Fred Meyer Reward card to the school. Fred Meyer will make a donation dependent on your purchases. This can be done whether you use scrip or not and again does not affect your reward or fuel points. Check out fredmeyer.com/community rewards (Sehome-#84719).
